Diane
Scanlon isn’t hungry for the spotlight. In the years since the
release of her critically acclaimed debut, Devotion, she’s started
a family, won a Grammy® Award for her compositions, and heard
her songs sung by platinum-selling artists Eva Cassidy and Tramaine
Hawkins. She’s made a fine living, honing her voice and her
songs and working as a producer and mentor to a new generation of
musicians.
Now,
Diane Scanlon is taking a fresh look at the world. Her long awaited
second CD, “Diane
Scanlon,” combines her gift for crafting bluesy,
reflective songs with a knowing, powerful voice.
“These
songs wrote themselves,” Diane says. “So many people live
in fear and uncertainty all over the world. To me this CD is the sound
of growing up, feeling lost and voiceless in America. This is my response
to the whittling away of the human spirit and the disregard for the
world we live in. Yet still the message is clear: this CD also expresses
a sense of hope and renewal.”
As a
performer, Diane Scanlon has toured extensively and internationally,
appearing at such esteemed venues as the Montreux Festival in Switzerland,
the Spoleto Festival in South Carolina, and the Nassau and New Haven
Colosseums. Known for her emotive, blues-flavored guitar and soul-searching
lyrics, Diane Scanlon is a musician’s musician.
